A Website Like a Suit — Tailor-Made or Off the Rack?

A Custom-Made Website - Blog - I Am Pawel
– Good morning, I’d like to order a website. But you know, the competition offers it cheaper.
– Then why did you come to me?

Silence.

A Template Website vs. a Tailor-Made Design

It’s a bit like walking into a tailor’s studio and saying:
– I heard that in a high street store, a suit costs half of what it does here.
And the tailor just looks up and replies:
– Then please buy it. Just don’t be surprised when it’s tight in the shoulders, the sleeves are too short, and the trousers fit your cousin better than you.

Because both are suits. Just like both are websites.
But with me, you’re not buying off the rack. You’re getting something tailor-made.

A Ready-Made Template? Sure. But…

Someone using a ready-made template, adding random stock photos, translating texts with Google Translate and calling it a “finished website” — isn’t doing anything wrong.
But let’s not compare that to work where every detail is chosen with intention.

Where you look for the right tone of voice, visual style, layout — something that works not just on screen, but also in the mind of the viewer.

A Tailor-Made Website Is a Process

Build a site from a template? You can.
Build one that reflects your personality and goals? That’s a different story altogether.

And that’s why I don’t have a price list like a supermarket.
Because this isn’t about a product.
It’s about a process, where the client isn’t just a user – but the starting point.

Not Everyone Needs a Premium Design

I’m not saying everyone needs a tailor-made project.
I also know that there are templates, one-click installers, quick DIY kits — and they absolutely have their place.

They work, they can be cheap, and they can be effective. Sometimes even very much so.

If You See a Price Difference – Check What’s Behind It

But if you’re comparing two offers and see a price difference — it might be worth looking not just at the price, but also at what’s behind it.

You Don’t Need to Be a Web Expert

You don’t have to know everything from the start. But if something seems unclear — ask, read, inquire.
Check how the collaboration looks, how the process unfolds, what’s included in the price — and what isn’t.

Sometimes even a simple “how does this work?” can clear things up.

And Finally: That’s What Blogs Like This Are For

And if this text helped you look at the topic from a different angle — that’s great.
After all, that’s exactly what blogs like this are for.
